  Other activities (selected):

  Anita Kangas has been active nationally and internationally in:

  • curriculum and teaching development,
  • directing research projects,
  • organising international summer schools, international research colloquiums and international conferences on cultural policy research (Nordic NCCPR2009, World ICCPR2010),
  • as an academic expert to a number of activities such as institution and programme evaluations and accreditations,
  • editorial boards (for example Nordic Journal of Cultural Policy, Journal of  Cultural Management and Policy, Janus),
  • international juries (ENCATC- Research Award on Cultural Policy and Cultural Management),
  • assessment boards of candidates for academic posts,  
  • preliminary readings and examinations in doctoral dissertations.

  In 1980s Kangas was the chair of the Arts Council of Central Finland and a member of the Finnish UNESCO Committee.

  In 1990s, Kangas was the vice chair of the Arts Council of Finland, a member of the board of the European network on cultural management and policy (ENCACT), of the advisory board of the INTERARTS (Barcelona), a member of the Consultative Board for Popular Science Finland and  the scientific advisory board at the Foundation for Municipal Development.  

  In 2000s and 2010s, Kangas was e.g. a chair of the board of the Foundation for Cultural Policy Research (CUPORE) and a chair of the Regional Cultural Foundation for Central Finland (Finnish Cultural Foundation), a member of the advisory board of Finnish National Gallery, a member of the core team of the European Expert Network on Culture (EENC) and a member of the expert group on cultural participation in the Statistic Finland.

  She has also consulted a number of Finnish national, local and regional authorities on cultural policy and cultural planning.
