Facebook Cupore’s new director is Johanna Tuukkanen, Ph.D
Doctor of Philosophy Johanna Tuukkanen has been elected as the director of the The Foundation for Cultural Policy Research. The director’s duties include managing Center for Cultural policy research Cupore. Johanna Tuukkanen has a bachelor’s degree in dance and a doctorate in philosophy (2020) from the University of Jyväskylä. Tuukkanen’s multidisciplinary dissertation contained fields of art research, cultural research and cultural policy and dealt with art festivals and curatorial practices.
Currently Johanna Tuukkanen is Head of Cultural Services & Director of Cultural centre Valve at City of Oulu. Tuukkanen is an experienced leader of expert organizations and she also has experience in research. Tuukkanen has extensive networks both nationally and internationally. Tuukkanen has worked in the field of art and culture in many roles, e.g. as a founding member and director of ANTI – Contemporary Art Festival and consulting expert of the Dance House Helsinki project.

Johanna Tuukkanen will start her position on 2nd of September 2024.
Cupore is the research center maintained by the Foundation for Cultural Policy Research, founded in 2002. Cupore is an expert in cultural policy research. The research center produces versatile information on art and cultural policy. Cupore’s core values are independence, transparency, diversity, equality, equality and responsibility. Cupore is committed to the goals of sustainable development. Cupore conducts research in cooperation with the Government and ministries, Taike – Arts Promotion Centre Finland, several Finnish municipalities and regions as well as art and culture sector. Cupore is active in Finnish and international research communities, universities and various research institutes. Cupore currently has 17 employees.
